DAY 1

Before noon: Start at 10:00 am from of our office in Ljubljana center towards Slovene Adriatic coast with first stop in Piran. This lovely colourful town is known for its long pier and grandiose Venetian architecture. Tartini Square is flanked by Gothic red Venetian house and the frescoed Tartini house, where the great violinist Giuseppe Tartini was born.

We will take a walk through this vibrant little town and ascend to the Cathedral hill. Those who would like to experience the life rich Adriatic underwater world, you will have time optionally visit the Aquarium of Piran. In early afternoon we will move to Medieval core of Koper and re-energise with a Mediterranean lunch at one of the most recognised restaurants in Koper, right on the waterfront.

Duration: Drive to Piran: 1h 30 min, Piran sightseeing: 2h 30min, drive to Koper: 15min, Lunch: 1h

After noon: We will continue with Koper Tour and see some of the most important landmarks of this town; such as the Praetorian Palace and a Gothic-style loggia, while nearby Da Ponte Fountain is a replica of Venice’s famed Rialto Bridge. Local artisan ice cream or a freshly brewed cappuccino will boost some energy into walking experience.

We shall then continue to our hotel for check-in and one some personal time off.  Hotel surrounding offers waterfront walkable experiences for those who want to wait outside, before we move forward.

Duration:  Koper sightseeing 3h, Time off in the hotel: 1h

Evening: in the evening we will move to the hills of Slovene Istria and explore the autochthone varieties of Slovene wines such as Refosco and Istrian Malvasia. Beautifully matching the local Istrian fish and meat culinary, these wines are also the most popular wines in this area. We will have an opportunity to try some fresh wines, fully bodied wines and optional selection of vintage wines.

Tasting room of this recognised wine cellar in Slovene Istria is beautifully furnished with traditional Istrian elements, creating a warm and cozy ambient for perfect wine tastings experience, livening your senses and delighting your soul.

10pm – return to hotel.

 

DAY 2

Before noon: After the breakfast we will continue our journey to the lively promenade of Portorož, celebrated local holiday destination. Central point of this area is a wide, sandy stretch beach, decorated with wooden piers and Sečovlje Salina Nature Park. These salt pans were formed more than 700 years ago and remain as the only salt pans still in operation in this part of the Adriatic, maintaining the traditional process of manual manufacture of salt. We will crown this guided tour with the typical local cuisine lunch.

Duration: drive to Portorož: 10 min, Portorož sightseeing: 2h, drive to Sečovlje: 10 min, Sečovlje Salt pans sightseeing: 1h, Lunch: 1h

After noon: The natural attractions of locally produced olive oil will bring you a whole new experience. We will attend the guided tour of the leading olive oil manufacture and the cultivation areas. After the walk-through olive groves, we will return to hotel for a short refreshment break.

Evening:  we will dedicate this last evening of our Istrian experience to the organically operated family wine estate. The cellar is situated on top of a hill, overlooking the Gulf of Piran and the unspoiled valley of the river Dragonja. Vineyards stretch along the Southern slopes of the Istrian hills at an altitude of 250 to 350m. All the wine production is manually done within the family with great attention and meticulous dedication and control of every moment of production. Lovely evening with wine tasting can be enriched with optional Truffle Search, in the company of local guide and search dog (based on the individual group preferences).

10pm – return to hotel.

 

DAY 3

After the breakfast we will check out and head to charming Italian coast town Trieste for a walk around the center and a lunch at local trattoria for a traditional dish of pasta. In the afternoon we shall visit the Miramare Castle and descent to the Slovene side of the Karst where we shall visit a lovely village of Tomaj and Dutovlje and further proceed to late full menu lunch at a traditional Slovene Karst restaurant for a continental meal, paired with wonderful local varieties or red wines, including Teran. In the evening hours we will return to Ljubljana.

Duration: breakfast and check out at 9 30 AM, drive to Trieste: 30 min, Trieste sightseeing with Italian lunch 3 h, transfer to Miramare Castle and Cappuchino Break 2h, transfer to Slovene Karst, Tomaj and Dutovlje sightseeing 2h, transfer to Typical Karst Restaurant for late lunch 2h, return to Ljubljana Centre 1h.

After we have received your reservation form, we will send you a conformation of availability within 24 hours.

Minimum 70% of down payment will be required for effective reservation. The balance will become due and payable, at least 24 hours before the trip starts.

After the payment has been received in full, you will be issued a voucher, which you will present to the tour concierge, guide or driver.

Cancellation policy: your participation in the tour may be cancelled any moment. If you cancel your tour within 24 hours after the  payment, we will refund you full amount received, deducted for bank fees if applicable. If the free cancellation terms are not met, cancelation costs will equal the amounts received.

Minimum number of persons required for this tour is 4. If the minimum number of trip participant is not met, the tour may be cancelled and you will receive a full refund. You will be notify of the tour cancellation minimum 24 hours before the tour starts.

NOTES: Please note that Slovenia’s law doesn’t permit selling alcoholic beverage to teens under 18 y.o. so clients under this age will be served non-alcoholic beverages. Children under 18 must be accompanied by an adult. Please let us know in advance any special need or impaired mobility of the clients and we will do our best to accommodate them.
